Srinagar, October 24 (KAT): The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a temporary power shutdown in various areas to facilitate infrastructure upgradation and maintenance work.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the 33kV KP Bagh Line (Tapline to Modern Hospital) will remain shut on October 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM, for the installation of poles and shifting of an 11kV line near the 33kV isolator Gantry of the Modern Super Hospital tap line. This will affect power supply to Watali Point, Dewatering Station (Rajbagh).
Similarly, the 33kV Sharifabad-Narbel line will remain shut on October 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM, to carryout the works stabilizing/ branch cutting and necessary maintaining, affecting power supply to Narbal, Kawoosa, Mazhama, Sozeith, Lawaypora, Malpora, Radbugh, Railway station mazhama and adjoining areas.
Also in this connection, the 33kV Machil Tap line will remain shut on October 27, 2025, from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM, to carryout the works stabilizing/ branch cutting, affecting power supply to Machil, Chountiwari, Dudi, Rig Bala/ Payeen and adjoining areas.
Likewise, the 33kV Khumriyal line will remain shut on October 29, 2025, from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM, to carryout the works stabilizing/ branch cutting, affecting power supply to Krusen, Sogam, Lalpora, Diver and adjoining areas.
Additionally, the 33kV GIS Tangpora exhibition line will remain shut on October 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 03:30 PM, branch cutting and stabilizing, affecting power supply to Batamaloo, Firdousabad, Magermel bagh, DC office, Chief office, Baranapather and adjoining areas.
Moreover, the 33kV Tangmarg-Gulmarg line will remain shut on October 27, 2025 & October 28, 2025 from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM, branch cutting and stabilizing, affecting power supply to Cable car, Khyber resorts, Gulmarg, Babareshi, Chuntpathri, Warapora and adjoining areas.
Authorities have urged residents to make necessary arrangements in advance to mitigate inconvenience during the scheduled outages.(KAT)
