Srinagar, August 01 (KAT): A non local labourer was killed and another was injured in a terrorist attack in Kelam area of Brick Kiln in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday late evening.
Reports reaching Kashmir Abb Tak said that a unknown gunmen reportedly entered Brick Kiln 77B, identified the non-local labourers based on their regional identity, and opened fire at close range.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Ratray (24) from Chhattisgarh, and the injured labourer is Bopinder (28), from Uttar Pradesh.
Bopinder was first taken to GMC Anantnag and later referred to SKIMS Hospital in Soura for special treatment.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a massive joint search operation to hunt down the attackers.(KAT)
