Baramulla, August 11 (KAT): Continuing its sustained crackdown on drug trafficking and substance abuse apprehended two persons during naka checking at Jeel Bridge area in Pattan in North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Tuesday late evening.
In a hideout to KAT, police said that during checking, a Maruti Swift car bearing registration No. JK05P-7750 was intercepted. On conducting the personal search of its occupants identified as Mohd Saleem Qureshi S/o Mohd Ashraf Qureshi (Driver) and Aijaz Ahmad Mir S/o Ghulam Mohd Mir, both residents of Nambla, Uri, 10 grams and 07 grams respectively of a brown sugar-like substance were recovered from their possession.
The recovered substance was seized as per due procedure. A case under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered, and further investigation has been initiated.
Baramulla Police reiterated its commitment to zero tolerance towards drug trafficking and substance abuse, and assured that strict action will continue against those involved in the illicit drug trade.(KAT)
