Baramulla, October 24 (KAT): In a major success, Police in Baramulla have apprehended an accused who had been absconding for the past 26 years.
Reports reaching Kashmir Abb Tak said that accused identified as Ab. Majeed Ganie son of Mohd. Abdullah Ganie, resident of Burziwachan, Kreeri, District Baramulla, was wanted in case FIR No. 195/1999 under sections 307, 148, 447, 324, 34 RPC of Police Station Pattan and had been declared as an absconder by the Hon’ble Court.
Acting on specific and reliable information, Police traced and arrested the said absconder. After his apprehension, he was produced before the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Pattan for further legal proceedings. The Hon’ble Court has subsequently remanded him to Central Jail, Baramulla.
The successful apprehension of the long absconding accused highlights the dedicated efforts and firm resolve of J&K Police in ensuring that lawbreakers are brought to justice and the rule of law is upheld.(KAT)
