Jio announces relief measures for customers hit by floods in J&K, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh

JAMMU: Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio) on Wednesday announced a set of relief initiatives for customers who have been affected by severe weather conditions and flooding across Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.

The company, in a press release, said that it continues to maintain critical connectivity in most parts of the affected regions, while also acknowledging the importance of reliable communication during natural disasters.

As part of the relief package, prepaid mobile and JioHome subscribers with plans expiring this week will automatically receive a three-day validity extension. Prepaid mobile users will be given unlimited voice calling and 2GB of high-speed data per day at no extra cost, while JioHome users will get three additional days of their last valid plan free of charge.

Postpaid mobile and JioHome customers will benefit from a three-day grace period for bill payments, ensuring uninterrupted service without disconnections.

Jio said that its on-ground engineering teams are working round the clock to boost network resilience and strengthen infrastructure in the flood-hit areas.

“As a pioneer in India’s digital transformation, Jio remains committed to delivering world-class connectivity and supporting communities through every hurdle, in line with the vision of a truly connected Digital India,” the company said in a statement.
