Srinagar, November 23 (KAT): Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Handwara arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Reports reaching Kashmir Abb Tak that Police Post Magam at a checkpint established at Ganie Mohalla Magam, intercepted a person identified as Muneer Ahmed khan son of Dost Mohd khan resident of Uchar Magam. During search, 68 grams of charas like Substance was recovered from his possession. He was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in Police custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 211/2024, under relevant sections stands registered at PS Handwara and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.(KAT)
