Shopian, 05 May 2023,(KAT) : For the first time, a laparoscopic enucleation of a hydatid cyst of the liver was successfully performed at District Hospital Shopian.
According to a doctor at the hospital, the surgery was carried out on a 45-year-old hypertensive female patient who had a huge hydatid cyst in the right lobe of her liver.
The surgery, which is typically performed in tertiary care centers due to the required surgical expertise and high anesthesia risk, was performed by laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Seth Mujtaba and the anesthesia team of Dr Ajaz Wani and Dr Aatif Nabi Shah—(KAT)
