Drug Peddler Arrested In Mirgund, Heroine Like Substances Recovered


Srinagar, September 15 (KAT): Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a drug peddler in North Kashmir's Mirgund and recovered heroine like substances from their possession. 

In a hideout to KAT, police said that a Police party established a naka at Devar, intercepted a suspected individual person who after noticing police party, attempted to flee from the spot. However, he was tactfully apprehended by the alert police team. He has been identified as Syed Ahmad Shah, son of Syed Mustafa Shah resident of Devar. During search, 02 grams of heroin-like substance, one mobile phone and ₹4,000 Net Cash were recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, FIR No. 214/2026 under Sections 8/21 NDP Act have been registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.

J&K Police reiterate their zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and reaffirm their commitment to sustained enforcement to safeguard youth and society from the menace of drugs.(KAT)
