Srinagar, March 08 (KAT): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday announced to reopen all educational institutions in Kashmir region on Monday.
The decision comes a week after the government had ordered closure of all educational institutions as a precautionary measure.
Education Minister, Sakina Itoo Speaking to Kashmir Abb Tak said that the schools, colleges and universities in all districts of Kashmir region will reopen on Monday.
“After taking a review of ground situation, we have decided to reopen the educational institutions in all districts of Kashmir from Monday,” she said.
Previously a week back, the government had ordered closure of schools and colleges across Kashmir region in order to ensure the safety of the students.
Following the killing of Supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in joint US-Israeli strikes, a widespread protest had erupted across Jammu and Kashmir.
Pertinently, schools upto 8th standard will reopen tomorrow following the winter break of more than two months.
The government had said that the degree colleges in the Kashmir Division and those in the winter zone of Jammu Division shall observe winter vacations from December-24-2025 to February-14-2026.(KAT)
