KPDCL Announced Power Outages For Maintenance - Check Areas & Dates


Srinagar, May 18 (KAT): The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across multiple areas of the Valley from May 19 to 24, 2025 to facilitate maintenance, branch cutting, and line stabilisation works.

According to the Chief Engineer of KPDCL’s Distribution Wing, the 33KV Watrihail line will remain shut for maintenance activities on May 19, 21 and 24 from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM. This will impact the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Waterhail, Waterwani, Charangam, and the PHE Filtration Plant, affecting electricity supply to areas including Waterhail, Sholipora, Lobertal, Dadina, Prisabad, Samsaan, Parthan, Charangam, Bane Gund, Punchgund, Uttligam, and nearby localities.

Similarly, the 33KV Nowbugh Chadoora line will be shut on May 19 from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM for tree pruning and maintenance, resulting in power disruption to the Chadoora, Panzan, and Ranger receiving stations. The outage will impact areas such as Sogam, Rapora, Dawlatpora, Lalgam, Wathoora, Budgam, Chadoora Hospital and adjoining zones.

On the same day, the 33KV Nowbugh Charisharief line will also undergo shutdown from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM, leading to blackouts in Char-I, Char-II, Hafroo, and Nagam. Affected areas include Kakawring, Yousmarg, Charisharief, Rakhayee, ITI Charisharief, Shrine, Tilsera, Badipora, and Buzgoo.

To facilitate the upgradation of the 33KV Alasteng–Nagbal line, shutdowns will be carried out on May 19 and 21 from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM. The blackout will affect the Alasteng, Nagbal, Gadoora, and Tulbagh receiving stations, impacting areas such as Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Fatehpora, Chunduna, Shairpathri and Pandach.

Additionally, the 33KV Alasteng–Zakura line will be non-operational on May 19 from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM, affecting Gulabagh, Ahmad Nagar, and Umarhair receiving stations. Power supply will be hit in Pathan Colony, Mir Mohalla, Nowbugh, 90-ft Road, Khalmullah and surrounding localities.

To facilitate road widening at Vadipora, the 33KV Handwara HOT line will also undergo shutdown on 19 May from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM, affecting receiving stations at Handwara, Chogul, and Pohrupeth.

Likewise, tree-cutting operations along the 33KV Yaripora–Behibagh Tap line will require power shutdown from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on May 10, leading to outages at Behibagh receiving station and areas including Sempora, Alamgung, Daderkoot, Kadder, and Harmain Shopian.
