Srinagar, March 26 (KAT): Continuing its drive against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police in Awantipora arrested 02 persons & seized 02 vehicles.
In a hideout to KAT, police said that it have seized two vehicles (Tipper) JK13H-0354 and JK01AW-1798 involved in illegal extraction of mineral in Pampore and arrested their drivers identified as Showkat Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Mohidin Rather resident of Sambar Bug Budgam and Mohd Yaseen Dar son of Ab Hamid Dar resident of Khankahbagh Pampore.
The police spokesman further stated that a case vide FIR No. 36/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pampore and further investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law, reads the statement.(KAT)
