An official told that the fire broke out at Raipora Palhallan in the late hours of Sunday and engulfed many shops.
He said men and machinery including police, fire and emergency along local made stringent efforts to douse off the fire.
He added that fire was brought under control but not before it has caused damage to the several shops.
Meanwhile police have taken cognizance and the cause of fire is being ascertained.
