Baramulla, 24 August 2022,(KAT): Encounter Started out between militants and government forces in PeethSeer area in North Kashmir's Sopore of Baramulla district on Monday.
Senior Police Officer Told News Agency—(KAT - Kashmir Abb Tak) that a joint team of Police, Army's 52RR and 179/ 177 BN of CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Peethseer.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.
As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped—(KAT).
