Srinagar, February 18 (KAT): The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power outages in multiple areas of Kashmir to facilitate essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
According to KPDCL, the shutdown is necessary for various projects, including power line reconductoring, emergency stabilisation, feeder extensions, and shifting of utilities.
On February 22, power supply will be disrupted from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at receiving stations Brein and Nishat, affecting areas including Tulip Garden, Pahloo, Taj Vivanta, Ishbar, Pathan Bagh, and Handampora. Additionally, due to reconductoring of the 33kV Khanyar-Rainawari line, outages will affect areas such as Miskeen Bagh, Rozabal, Rainawari, Hazaribagh, JLNM Hospital, and Central Jail from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on February 22 and 25.
Similarly, on February 20, power supply will be cut from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in areas fed by receiving stations Palhalan and Hamray, including Hanjiwera, Pattan, and adjacent localities, due to utility shifting by BEACON-NH.
Emergency stabilisation work by STD Sopore will also lead to outages in Watlab, Tujjar, and Dooru on February 22, while Baramulla town, DC Office, Kanlibagh, and Sangri will face cuts on February 23.
Other major disruptions include: February 19: Power shutdown in Sangrama, Wagoora, Kreeri, and Ichloo from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for 33kV Kalantra tap work.
February 20 & 25: Outages in Panzigam, Ajar, and District Police Line areas from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for stabilisation work.
February 22, 24 & 26: Power supply affected in Burzhama, Danihama, Khimber, and adjacent areas from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM due to feeder extension.
February 25 & 27: Upgradation of 33kV Wanpoh SICOP line will affect areas such as Shamsipora, Zirpara, Veeri, and Bijbehara-SICOP from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Authorities have urged residents to make necessary arrangements in advance to mitigate inconvenience during the scheduled outages.(KAT)
