03 Drug Peddlers Arrested in Dafpora Area of Budgam, Contraband Substance Recovered - Kashmir Abb Tak

Budgam, 30 August 2021,(KAT): Police on Monday said that it arrested three notorious drug peddlers in Central Kashmir's Budgam district.


Police officials Told News Agency—(KAT - Kashmir Abb Tak) that continuing its efforts to curb the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested three notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.


During naka checking at Dafpora Nasrullapora, police party of Police Station Budgam intercepted one vehicle bearing registration No.JK04E-9755 EECO Van with 03 persons onboard, during search of said vehicle, police party recovered 2.80 Grams of Heroin like substance, 5 Kgs of codeine based syrup in a plastic container, 02 Bottles of codeine based Syrup and 471 tablets of controlled medicine Alprazolam, they said.


 The spokesman further said that the three arrested persons have been identified Jahangir Ahmad Mugloo@Jan Kandeel son of Abdul Rashid Mugloo resident of Putlibagh Firdous Ahmad Dar son of Habibullah Dar R/O Nasrullapora and Manzoor Ahmad Dar@Jakass son of Farooq Ahmad Dar resident of Nasrullapora Budgam. Vehicle used in commission of crime also seizedon spot.


Case FIR number 276/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation set into motion, they said.


Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace, reads the statement—(KAT).
