Eid-Ul-Adha: Indo-Pak Armies exchanged sweets at the historic Teethwal Crossing bridge and Kaman Aman Setu in Uri - Kashmir Abb Tak

Uri, 21 July 2021,(KAT):  Aimed to revive the old tradition, the Armies of India and Pakistan on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha exchanged sweets at the historic Teethwal crossing bridge and Kaman Aman Setu in Uri in the twin North Kashmir districts of Kupwara and Baramulla respectively.


Army Officer Told News Agency_(Kashmir Abb Tak) that on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Adha the Indo-Pak armies exchanged the sweets in a meeting held at Teethwal and Uri in twin sectors in the presence of police and other officials this afternoon.


They said that all the necessary Covid-19 protocols were followed during the exchange of sweets by the two sides.


Meanwhile, an Amry spokesperson, in a statement said that on the occasion of Eid-ul- Zuha and as a gesture for promoting peace, harmony and compassion in the true spirit of the festival, India and Pakistan Armies held a flag meeting and exchanged sweets at Kaman Aman Setu, Uri and Teethwal Crossing. 


He said that the event was held by strictly following the ceasefire agreement on the Line of Control.


Notably, after the recent ceasefire agreement between the two countries in February, the situation close to the fence has improved with border tourism getting the required momentum and native people living without fear like never before. 


It may be recalled that the two armies on eve of the Eid-Ul-Fitr had also exchanged sweets at Teethwal bridge in Kupwara—(KAT).
