Authorities Announced Two Days Restrictions In Parts Of Pattan Ahead Of 10th Muharram


Srinagar, June 25 (KAT): In view of the observance of 9th and 10th Muharram and with the objective of maintaining peace, public order, and tranquility, the authorities on Wednesday announced a imposed restrictions under Section of 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.

Reports reaching Kashmir Abb Tak said that the restrictions shall remain in force from 8:30 PM on June 24, 2026, until 10:00 PM on June 26, 2026, in Village Marchimar and Mirgund of Tehsil Singhpora, Sub-Division Pattan, District Baramulla, along with adjoining areas.

The order states that the restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent any imminent danger to life and property and to ensure the maintenance of law and order during the Muharram observances.

Under the order: No assembly or congregation of four or more persons shall be permitted in the notified villages and adjoining areas.

No procession shall be allowed during the period of restrictions. No person, except members of the Armed Forces, Police, Magistrates, or duly authorized public servants on official duty, shall carry firearms or any article capable of being used as a weapon of offence in public places.

The use of loudspeakers or any other sound-amplifying devices for speeches, announcements, or any other purpose shall remain prohibited without prior permission from the District Magistrate, Baramulla.

The district administration has appealed to the public to cooperate with the authorities and adhere to the restrictions in the interest of maintaining peace and communal harmony in the area.This version follows the standard style used by local news agencies and newspapers.(KAT)
