Srinagar, January 14 (KAT): Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, is likely to be appointed now chairman.
Official sources told the Kashmir Abb Tak that the Cabinet in its last meeting had recommended the appointment of Sheikh as Chairman of JKBOSE and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha is learnt to have cleared the proposal.
A formal order regarding the appointment of Prof Makhdoomi is likely to be made within the next few days, sources added.
Pertinent to mention that the post of JKBOSE Chairman is lying vacant for the last 10 months and search committee for preparing the panel of names was constituted twice.(KAT)
