Property of Notorious Drug Peddler Worth Lacks Attached in Pulwama: Police


Pulwama, December 12 (KAT): In a relentless effort to curb the menace of drug peddling, Police in Pulwama today attached a single storey residential house valuing approximately Rs.20 lacs, belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Javaid Ahmad Ganaie son of Mohd Shaban Ganie resident of Loolipora Kakapora . 

Reports reaching Kashmir Abb Tak that property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Pulwama police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner. Pertinently the said drug peddler is presently lodged in central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu under PIT NDPS act.

The action has been taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with case FIR no 15/2023 U/S 8/15 of NDPS act of PS Kakapora and FIR No. 220/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act of Police Station Pulwama.

This action reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area have hailed the initiative of Police with regard to the attachment of immovable property, which has been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the Pulwama district.(KAT)
