An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that the accident took place in Barsoo Awantipora when a private vehicle hit him, resulting in injuries to him.
He was transported to SKIMS Soura by a police team, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The deceased was identified as Mohd Rajab wani son of Ghulam Rasool, a resident if Goripora Awantipora.
