Srinagar, Dec 02: In the ongoing District Development Council elections in Jammu and Kashmir, cricketer-turned-MP Gautam Gambhir will come out as a star campaign. Next week, he will come to Jammu and take charge of the election campaign. 


Party sources said that Gautam Gambhir will participate as a BJP campaigner in the elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir on December 7-9.


Two phases of the District Development Council elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir in eight phases have been successfully completed. 


During this time, BJP's Union Ministers General VK Singh, Kishanpal Gurjar, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Himachal Chief Minister Jairam Thakur undertook campaigning to ensure BJP's victory in Jammu and Srinagar. Along with BJP policies, he also informed the people of Jammu and Kashmir about the vision of the BJP.


BJP's Union Minister Anurag Thakur who has been appointed as incharge of campaigning on behalf of BJP and Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh is still campaigning in favor of BJP candidates. Apart from him, J&K influential Tarun Chugh, former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain, Harish Sood and senior BJP leader Jaffer-ul-Islam have also campaigned for BJP. Now this responsibility is being entrusted to MP Gautam Gambhir.
