DC Budgam orders sealing of two Schools over violation of COVID SoP’s >> Kashmir Live Updates

Srinagar, Dec 01 (KLU): Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza on Tuesday ordered the sealing of two private schools in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district and slapped the fine penalty of rupees 30,000 on each school for running normal class work without following COVID-19 SoP’s.


An official told news agency Kashmir Live Updates - (KLU) that they had received a complaint against Peace Public School Nagam and SQM Islamic School Namthaaal Chadoora. Acting upon the complaint after a team was constituted and they paid a surprise inspection to these schools and found that Schools were running normal class work without observing Covid-19 related SoP’s.


“Now, in order to safeguard the precious lives of students of these institutions and as a prophylactic measures, DC Budgam have ordered sealing of this institution till further orders,” he said.


An order issued by DC Budgam, in this regard, a copy of which lies with news agency KDC, reads, “I, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza (KAS), District Magistrate Budgam, in exercise of powers vested upon me under section 144 Cr.PC, section 34 of National Disaster management Act, 18976 do hereby order the closure of aforesaid premises till further orders, besides imposition of penalty to the tune of Rs. 30000/-(Thirty Thousand Only) each for violating guidelines of Government.”


“Tehsildar Chadoora and Station House Officer, Chadoora shall close the premises immediately and to report compliance,” the order further reads. (KLU)
