Srinagar, June 13:(GNS) Encounter starts between militants and government forces in Village Nipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.
According to the reports reaching GNS, a joint team of Police, Army’s 19 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Nipora.

Srinagar, June 13:(GNS) Encounter starts between militants and government forces in Village Nipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.
According to the reports reaching GNS, a joint team of Police, Army’s 19 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Nipora.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
A senior police officer confirmed to GNS the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants. As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
Pertinently this is 4th encounter since last 6 days in South Kashmir in which 14 militants were killed including some top commanders.(GNS)
