Power Supply Remained Stable Despite Continued Snowfall: KPDCL


Srinagar, January 27 (KAT): The power supply across the Kashmir Valley remained largely stable on Tuesday despite continued snowfall in several areas. 

Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited told Kashmir Abb Tak that the electricity infrastructure is functioning normally and no major disruption has been reported so far due to the prevailing weather conditions. They said field teams have been deployed across districts to monitor the situation and respond promptly to any localized faults.

Officials said snowfall, though continuing in parts of the Valley including Srinagar, south Kashmir and higher reaches, has not significantly affected transmission or distribution systems. He added that precautionary measures had been put in place in advance, including readiness of maintenance crews and availability of essential equipment.

They said power supply to hospitals, water supply schemes and other essential services is being given priority to ensure uninterrupted functioning during the weather spell.

Authorities said control rooms are operational at district and divisional levels to receive complaints and coordinate rapid response in case of outages. Consumers have been advised to report faults through designated helpline numbers.

Meanwhile, light to moderate snowfall continued in several areas of the Valley, with officials saying the situation remains under close watch.(KAT)
