A powerful explosion occurred in a car near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort (Lal Qila) Metro Station on Monday evening, killing nine persons and injuring several others. The incident triggered panic in the high-security zone, prompting an immediate response from the police and fire department.
According to the Delhi Fire Department, a call was received about an explosion in a car near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, after which three to four nearby vehicles caught fire and sustained damage. A total of seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot, along with 15 CAT ambulances. The fire has since been brought under control.
Sources told that multiple casualties have been brought to the LNJP Hospital, while several others sustained injuries in the explosion.
