Bandipora, July 4 (KAT): A teenage boy drowned to death in Baharabad Hajin area of North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Friday morning.
Reports reaching Kashmir Abb Tak said that one Shahid Ahmad, son of Tariq Ahmad, slipped into river Jhelum while he was bathing.
As the news spread, the locals alongside police started a rescue operation and after strenuous efforts brought the boy out from the water source, in an unconscious condition.
The boy was taken to a nearby health facility, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Confirming it, a police official told KAT that the boy has been handed over to the bereaved family for last rites. (KAT)
