Srinagar, September 28 (KAT): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that a Two local LeT/TRF militants was killed in Adigam area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.
A senior police official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that the search operation turned into an encounter after militants opened fire at the forces, who retaliated.
Earlier, 3 Army Soldiers including Police Officer Injured, all of them have been immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment, where their condition is stated to be stable.
‘In the ensuing encounter, two militants was killed, both has been identified as Aqib Ahmad Shergojri, son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Chadoora, Budgam & Umais Wani resident of Chawalgam, Kulgam, affiliated with the proscribed militant outfit LeT/TRF,’ the official said.(KAT)
