Srinagar, Sep 07: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah delivered a powerful address at the Karyakarta Sammelan in Palaura, Jammu, sharply criticizing the Congress and National Conference (NC) for "corruption, anti-development policies, and alleged support for terrorism".
Shah asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a full majority in Jammu & Kashmir, backed by the people’s support.
In his speech, Shah highlighted that for the first time since India’s independence, voters in Jammu and Kashmir will cast their ballots under a single flag—the Tricolor—and a unified constitution, moving away from the previous dual flag and dual constitution arrangement.
The rally was also attended, JK election in-charge Kishan Reddy Gangapuram, Tarun Chugh, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma.
Shah underscored the NDA government's achievements and reiterated the BJP’s commitment to creating a "peaceful, secure, developed, and prosperous" Jammu and Kashmir.
He noted the historic significance of the upcoming election, particularly following the abrogation of Article 370, and praised the record voter turnout in recent Lok Sabha elections.
Shah pledged the BJP’s intention to achieve a decisive victory and criticized opposition attempts to reintroduce Article 370 and undermine reservations for various communities.
Shah defended the Modi government’s achievements, including the successful conduct of the Amarnath Yatra and ongoing development projects, and vowed continued investment in infrastructure, tourism, and social welfare. He urged BJP karyakartas to ensure high voter turnout and to counter the divisive agendas of Congress and NC.
Concluding his speech, Shah appealed to the people to support the BJP to secure a stable and prosperous future for Jammu and Kashmir, warning against the return of terrorism and instability under other potential governments.
