JKBOSE Big Update for class 10th, 11th, 12th students annual regular 2023

Srinagar, 11 April 2023,(KAT) : The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has announced that it will not be conducting practical exams for Class 10 and will instead rely on internal tests conducted by schools. According to Lal Hussain, Joint Secretary, Examination, BOSE, schools will forward the 20 marks internal results to the board, which is already a set procedure. However, BOSE will be holding external practical exams for Class 11 and 12.

The Class 10 exams in soft zones have concluded, and the Class 12 exams will begin on April 11, followed by the Class 11 exams on April 12. In August 2022, the government shifted the academic session to March in sync with the National Education Policy (NEP). Exams in hard zones, which are areas that are snowbound and not reachable, started from April 8. The decision was made because access to these areas was difficult during March.

In a bid to avoid academic loss, the Jammu and Kashmir government has provisionally promoted Class 10 students to the next class. As per the Uniform Academic Calendar, students who appear in Class 10 and 11 examinations shall be provisionally admitted in Class 11th and 12th, respectively, after the conclusion of the Board examination. Students who are declared unsuccessful shall be permitted to continue their studies in Class 11th and 12th until the result of the Biannual/Annual Private examinations is declared—(KAT)
