Covid-19 cases in India slightly down; the number still high with 645 cases, 2 deaths


New Delhi, 22 March 2023,(KAT) : India on Wednesday (March 22) logged in 645 fresh coronavirus cases, with active cases rising to 6559, Union health ministry data showed.


According to the data, the death toll increased to 5,30,808 with two fatalities recorded – one each from Rajasthan and Kerala. Also, the active cases now comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections. The national covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.80 per cent, according to the health ministry website

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,41,59,617.


According to the ministry's website, 220,65,13,507 crore doses of covid vaccine have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, with at least 7,463 people receiving the injections in one day—(KAT)
