October 14: Continuing its drive against social crimes, Police in Baramulla have arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on a reliable information regarding the gambling activities in the woods of Gulmarg-Tangmarg area, a Police party headed by SHO PS Gulmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg raided the spot and arrested 4 gamblers. They have been identified as Javid Ahmad son of Ab Rahim resident of Noorbagh, Younis Ahmad son of Mohd Shafi resident of Qamarwari, Manzoor Ahmad son of Ab Rashid & Feroz Ahmad son of Gh Mohd, both residents of Safakadal Srinagar.
Stake money of ₹6600/- & playing cards have been recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Gulmarg and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local Police units.
