There are only 90 seconds to midnight: this is the warning issued by Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. This, of course, does not mean that we are close to the end of the world in the true sense of the word: one cannot, however, ignore the difficult conditions under which we live today. In particular, pushing the hands so close to "X" hour are two reasons.
The first reason is obviously the escalating conflict in Ukraine, while the second is the possible effects of the increasingly consistent climate crisis (not to mention the biological threat related to the pandemic).
Rachel Bronson, president of Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, confirmed that the timetable of the Doomsday Clock reflects the complicated moment in which we are living: however, Bronson hopes that political institutions can find the path of dialogue to turn back the clock as far as possible.
