Pattan, 7 October 2022,(KAT) : Years gone thousands of Commuters from North Kashmir are still facing tough time due to continuous traffic Jam and delay in road widening of National Highway at Pattan town in Baramulla district.
Locals and Traders Body while appreciating the role of Pattan Police in Traffic Regulation have demanded immediate Road widening at Pattan town.
As per reports to Scores of commuters who travel from north Kashmir to Srinagar every day have expressed resentment against the District and Divisional administration for their carelessness towards the Road Widening of national highway within Municipal Limits of Pattan town to deal with this burning issue.
Locals told that the traffic Movement on Baramulla National Highway has been increased ten times than earlier but unfortunately road is same as it was before hundred years ago, not a Single feet of road has been extended at Pattan town.
“Due to Continuous Traffic Mess, Non availability of Parking our business has been badly hit besides that we are also not in a position to renovate our shops as we have been restricted from starting new in Pattan town by Concern Municipal Committee”,traders alleged.
President Traders Federation Pattan Nasir Bashir Shah while demanding the immediate road widening at Pattan, said,” ‘we are helpless before LG administration, despite assurances from LG, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and Deputy Commissioner nobody listens to our grievances.
Another Trader from the Pattan area while lauding the role of police in regulating traffic mess added Police is not the ultimate Solution of the traffic Mess as there is need to extend the road on priority basis so that People of North Kashmir will get some sort of relief.
Meanwhile on being contacted by (Kashmir Abb Tak), SSP Baramulla Rayees Mohammad Bhat (IPS) said that they have already deployed sufficient manpower to regulate the traffic in the man market. “Presently more than twenty police personnel’s have been deployed in the market to regulate hassle free traffic on the highway”—(KAT)
