Pattan, 28 July 2022,(KAT) Baramulla Police continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society. Today, Police party from Police Station Pattan led by SHO Pattan, Inspector Nisar Ahmad established a naka at Hyderbeigh Pattan. During Naka checking one person carrying bag was stopped for checking. However, the said person tried to flee from the spot, but was apprehended tactfully and during search of his bag 12 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession.
He has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad War S/O Late Gh Mohd War resident of Khaitangan Baramulla. In this connection, case under sections of Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their vicinity. Persons found indulging in drug peddling or any other anti-social element will be dealt strictly as per law.
