BASIT FAROOQ:
BUDGAM, 08 August 2021, (KAT): During naka checking at Wadwan , police party of Police Post Soibugh intercepted one vehicle Chevrolet Spark bearing registration number JK01L 4385. During search of the said vehicle,103 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from the vehicle.
The drug peddler who was driving the vehicle was arrested on the spot & was subsequently identified as Syed Irfan-ul-haq S/O Late Zia-ud-din R/O Tengbagh Khayam Srinagar. The vehicle used for Commission of the crime has also been seized.
Case FIR number 244/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace_(KAT).
