Srinagar, February 24:(KLU) Two militants have been killed in an ongoing gunfight in Shalgul forest in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told News Agency_Kashmir Live Updates (KLU) that two militants have been killed in Shalgul forest.
It is a deep forest however forces managed to enagage militants, the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained, IGP added.
Earlier, Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and Army's 3RR launched a cordon and search operation in Shalgul forest.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.(KLU).
