Day 3: Search Operation continues to retrieve in Sopore 12-years-old body from River Jhelum | KLU


 

Sopore, Oct 22 (KNO): The rescue and search operation to retrieve the body of a 12-year-old boy, who allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Jhelum in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, continued for the third consecutive day. 


An official told the news agency—KLU - Kashmir Live Updates that the search operation by a team of Marco's, Army' 22 RR unit, Police and locals continued for the third consecutive day today. 


He said that the efforts are on to retrieve the body of the teenager as the search operation was resumed in the wee hours today. 


Notably, a 12-year-old boy identified as Shahid Nazir Changal, son of Nazir Ahmad Changal of Ahadbab crossing, jumped into the river from bypass bridge on Wednesday. He was a student of class 8th. 


Station House Officer (SHO) Sopore, Azim Iqbal told KNO that the operation was resumed for the third consecutive day today to retrieve the teenager's body.  


“Efforts are on to retrieve the body from the river,” he said, adding that a case has already been registered and further investigation has been initiated—(KLU)
