Anantnag, Apr 26: Test of deceased pregnant woman for Covid-19 is still awaited and it has not been declared positive yet, authorities at Government Medical College Anantnag said on Sunday evening.
Pertinently, a pregnant woman with twin babies died at Maternity Hospital Anantnag yesterday. She arrived in the hospital from Kharpora red zone while family members alleged doctors didn't attend her out of fear. Government has ordered an inquiry into the incident while her samples were collected to ascertain the fact whether she was a Covid-19 patient or not.
Principal, GMC Anantnag, Dr Showkat Jeelani told KNT that they have not received the test report of the deceased woman. "I have been listening through media that she has tested positive but it's not official so for as we haven't received any report so for," Showkat Jeelani said adding that test report will arrive from Chest Disease hospital Srinagar.
When contacted renowned Pulmonologist and Head of Department CD Hospital, Dr Naveed Nazir said he also heard about it through social media but the test of this deceased woman has not reached to us. "The Covid-19 tests that we received till 5 PM today didn't contain the report of this woman. Her test report will arrive, but till this point of time, her test report is awaited," Dr Naveed told KNT.
