Srinagar, March 13 (KAT): The historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar to remain closed today on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.
Reports reaching Kashmir Abb Tak said that worshippers will not be able to offer congregational prayers at the mosque, as the authorities have decided to keep the historic place of worship closed for the day.
Jumat-ul-Vida holds deep religious significance for Muslims, and large congregations are usually witnessed at Jamia Masjid in the old city. However, with the mosque remaining closed today, devotees are expected to offer prayers at local mosques in their respective areas.(KAT)
