Baramulla, January 08 (KAT): Continuing its sustained efforts to curb the menace of drugs, Palhallan Police arrested one drug peddler during naka checking and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In A hideout to KAT, police said that a police party along with HC Mushtaq Ahmad No. 113/B established a naka at about 1600 hrs. During checking, one suspicious person was apprehended tactfully. He was later identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir @ Nyuk S/o Abdul Khaliq Mir R/o Tantraypora Palhalan.
Upon his personal search, a brown sugar–like contraband substance weighing about 04 grams was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 09/2026 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pattan, and further investigation has been taken up.
Baramulla Police remains steadfast in its commitment to eliminate the drug menace and urges the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug peddling or other unlawful activities with the nearest police station.(KAT)
