PDP Leader IItija Mufti expresses grief over killing of driver in Baramulla and another civilian in Billawar

Srinagar, Feb 6 (KAT): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti today expressed deep sorrow over killing of a driver in North Kashmir’s Baramulla and another civilian in Billawar, Jammu.

Taking to social media platform X, Iltija expressed deep concern over what she termed as "unbridled impunity" in the region.

“Shocking that after a civilian killing in Kathua dubbed as an ‘OGW’, another civilian from Sopore was shot dead by the Army,” she wrote.

Referring to the Baramulla incident, she questioned the circumstances of the shooting, highlighting the Army’s claim that they had aimed at the truck’s tyres but ended up fatally hitting the driver.

“How strange that after chasing the truck for over 23 km, they claim to have fired at the tyres but somehow misfired at him instead. Are Kashmiri lives so cheap? How long will you justify this unbridled impunity by pointing everyone with the needle of suspicion?” she added.(KAT)
