Srinagar, February 08 (KAT): Police on Saturday said that it have arrested drug peddler in North Kashmir's Handwara.
In a handout to KAT, the police said that a team of Handwara Police Led by Police Post Kralgund established a Naka at T Junction Kargam, during checking one person were apprehended namely Javaid Ahamd Sheikh S/O Ab Ahad Sheikh R/O Hanga Handwara, during their personal search 7.67 grams of contraband Charas like Substance was recovered from Their possession. the accused were arrested on spot.
The police spokesman further stated that in this regard, a case vide FIR No. 32/2025 U/S 8/21 NDPS under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Handwara and an investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding Drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace, reads the statement.(KAT)
