Karnah: On the last day for the withdrawal of nomination papers for the third phase of the assembly elections, three candidates from the Karnah Assembly constituency withdrew their nomination papers. Now, eight candidates will contest the elections from this constituency. It is worth noting that a total of 12 candidates had initially submitted their nomination papers for the Karnah Assembly seat. However, after scrutiny, the nomination of one candidate, Shafiq Ahmad Khan, was rejected, leaving 11 candidates in the race.
On the last day for withdrawal, three independent candidates—Idrees Ahmad Shah, Manzoor Ahmad Wani, and Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh—pulled out of the contest.
As a result, eight candidates are now left to contest. These include Javed Ahmad Mirchal from the National Conference, Raja Manzoor Ahmad Khan from Apni Party, Dr. Naseer Ahmad Awan from the People's Conference, Idrees Ahmad Mir from the BJP, Firdous Ahmad Mir from the PDP, Sajid Mir from Bhim Sena, Sujawal Shah from the Samajwadi Party, and independent candidate Fayyaz Ahmad Paswal, who has received support from the Awami Ittihad Party led by Engineer Rasheed.
