September 16: Continuing its drive against the drug peddlers and its propagators, Police have arrested drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party headed by SHP Police Station Awantipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora Shri during naka checking at Larkipora arrested one drug peddler identified as Ajaz Ahmad Shah son of Gh Mohd Shah resident of Larkipora Awantipora. During checking, 21.4Kgs of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a Case vide FIR Number 135/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
Police remains committed to eliminating drug peddling and urges the community to report any information about such illegal activities to help protect the youth from falling victim to addiction.
