Srinagar, September 15: Police on Sunday said that it have launched a formal investigation following a distressing incident involving a woman from Kakapora, who was allegedly forced to consume a poisonous substance by her husband.
In a handout, According to the victim’s statement recorded earlier today, the incident took place after her husband served her a divorce notice a few days ago. The woman was immediately provided with medical assistance, and her statement has become central to the ongoing investigation.
The spokesman further stated that in addition to the victim’s account, a written application was also received today from her brother, Mudasir Ahmad Pinchu, R/o Khanabal Anantnag (currently residing in Batengo), naming the following individuals as responsible for the incident: 1.Manzoor Ahmad Fashu, S/o Gh Mohd Fashu 2. Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, Son In Law Gh Mohd Fashu 3. Nawaz Ahmad Dar S/o Abdul Rahem Dar, all residents of Kakapora.
Based on this information, Pulwama Police have taken cognizance of the case and registered FIR No. 32/2024 under sections 85, 109, and 49 of the BNS Act. The investigation has been set in motion, although no arrests have been made as of yet, he said.
