September 11: Acting tough against the drug peddlers and its propagators, police have arrested a drug peddler and three drug consumers in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance.
A Police party headed by SHO Police Station Pampore under the supervision of SDPO Pampore at a checkpoint established at Bujbagh Crossing intercepted a suspicious person identified as Danish Shafi Dar son of Mohd Shafi Dar resident of Samboora. During search, 11 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 111/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Pampore and investigation has been initiated.
Moreover, 03 drug consumers were apprehended during patrolling, during questioning they admitted that are regular drug consumers. Accordingly, they were shifted to drug de-addiction/ rehabilitation centre Srinagar where the test of all the persons was conducted and the report reveals positive.
The drug consumers have been identified as Umer Ahmad Sheikh son of Farooq Ahmad Sheikh resident of Batwara A/P Panthachowk, Aqib Ashraf son of Mohammad Ashraf Dar resident of Frestabal Pampore and Manzoor Ahmad Mir son of Nazir Ahmad Mir resident of Frestabal Pampore. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 112/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Pampore and investigation was initiated.
