Srinagar: One died and several passengers were left injured after a mini-bus and an SUV collided with each other at Kunjwani Chowk in Jammu on Saturday morning.
Preliminary reports reaching said that the two vehicles, a mini-bus and a Creta, had a head-on collision on Kunjwani-Satwari road near the bata shop in Jammu, resulting in injuries to several passengers.
"Immediately after the accident, the passersby started to get the stuck passengers out from the ill-fated bus and the occupant(s) from the Creta vehicle, bearing registration number JK02DA 4800," reports said.
The injured persons were shifted to GMC Jammu treatment and one among them, a girl, has died, reports added.
A student, who also was in the mini-bus along with other students at the time of an accident, told local media that the incident happened when the driver of the affected bus and another passenger bus were engaged in a sort of race.
Meanwhile, the local police have taken a cognizance of the incident and registered a case in this regard.
