J&K ACB arrest PDD employee in bribery case in Srinagar


Srinagar, Mar 14 (KNO): The Anti Corruption Bureau arrested Power Development Department employee for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 6500 for providing electricity connection in Soura area of Srinagar. 


In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) a spokesperson said that Javid Ahmad Raina, son of Mohammad Yousuf Raina of Gund Pora, Rampora Bandipora was arrested redhanded while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 6500.


The statement reads that a complaint was received from the complainant, alleging demand of bribe by PDD employee, for providing electricity connection. 


“Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 06/2024 U/S 7 of PC Act 1988 was registered with PS ACB Srinagar and investigation taken up,” it reads. 


It added that during the course of investigation, a trap was laid and the accused official was caught redhanded while demanding and accepting bribe.


The statement added that further investigation into the case is going on—(KNO)
