3.6 Magnitude of earthquake hits Jammu and Kashmir


An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 on the Richter scale jolted Jammu and Kashmir’ Kishtwar on 16 January, the National Center for Seismology (NSC) has informed.

As per NCS, the quake occurred at 8:53 am at a depth of 5 km. Taking to X, NCS tweeted, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.6, Occurred on 16-01-2024, 08:53:53 IST, Lat: 33.34 & Long: 76.70, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: Jammu & Kashmir, India”
