Kupwara, 16 July 2023,(KAT) : An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Jamgund area along Line of Control in North Kashmir's Kupwara District.
Reports reaching—(Kashmir Abb Tak) that security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Jamgund area along Line of Control during the night after receiving specific input on the presence of militants.
He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militants opened fire at a search party of the forces, who retaliated.
It also said that 2-3 miltants are trapped in this gunfight.
The exchange of fire is going on and reinforcements have been sent to the area, the official said.
